Our congregation believes
that...
God is true and living! He exists forever in community as God the Father, God
the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He created the entire universe, including
mankind, just like he said in the book of Genesis. He deserves worship.
Deuteronomy 6:4-5
The 66 books of the Holy Bible were given by God and written down by
people who were inspired by His Spirit. The entire Bible is true, complete, and
is the ultimate authority on how we live our lives and develop our faith in God.
The goal of Scripture is to bring mankind back to the image of God, in which
we were created.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
People were created by God in His own image to glorify Him. People are
valuable to God. Adam and Eve, the first humans, made a choice to disobey
God and now every person is born with the nature to be disobedient to Him;
this is called “sin.” Sin brings about spiritual and physical death and causes
the need for salvation. Salvation is exclusively possible through the death,
burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God’s only son.
Genesis 1:26
Jesus Christ is God’s only son. He is 100% God and 100% human. He was
born of a virgin, performed miracles, and lived His life in perfection. He died on
a cross so people could have their sins forgiven and have salvation; but He
indeed rose again! He ascended to Heaven and sits at the right hand of God.
One day He will come back to earth to take those who have received His
salvation to be with Him for eternity in Heaven.
Hebrews 1:3
The Holy Spirit baptizes all believers into the body of Christ; He works
supernaturally and is sovereign. At the moment of salvation, the Holy Spirit
enters the believer and gives power to witness and to serve. The Holy Spirit
shows people their sin, reveals the truth in God’s Word, and seals the
believer until the return of Jesus.
Acts 1:8
All people are born with a disposition to commit sin; this means all of us need
salvation because sin separates us from God who is Holy. This salvation
comes only through a relationship with Jesus, begun by faith and rejecting
(repenting of) sin. A person accepts Christ’s forgiveness and instead of
separation and destruction, the believer receives eternal life. Salvation
happens at once by the work of the Holy Spirit revealing the Word of God.
People cannot earn salvation through good deeds or by not doing bad things.
God alone shows grace and gives salvation to people because His son Jesus
died on the cross in their place. Every believer is kept safe in Christ for
eternity!
Ephesians 2:8-9
At the moment of salvation, the Holy Spirit supernaturally baptizes a person
into the body of Christ. The body of Christ is the Church and is led by Jesus
Christ. On earth, the Church is expressed as individual local congregations.
The Church exists to glorify God through sharing the Gospel, equipping
disciples, caring for all in need, fellowship, and worship.
Acts 2:42-44
God will choose when and how to bring the world to an end. Jesus will return
in glory to earth. All the dead, those who have believed and rejected Him, will
be resurrected and judged by Jesus. Those who have received His salvation
will be rewarded and join Him in Heaven forever. Those who have rejected
Him and gone their own way will be eternally separated from God in the place
of punishment called Hell. Because we believe Jesus will return, believers are
faithful to the Lord and in doing His work.
Hebrews 9:27-28
